Following are our developed workshops, but this is an area we are expanding, so please feel free to share your ideas! If you are interested in hosting a workshop, contact us to get the conversation going! Or check out our upcoming public workshops to join as an attender.

Raised-Bed Gardening

The easiest way to both start a garden and manage it long term is with raised beds! This workshop will cover the pros and cons of different types of raised beds, the best practices for building your own, and solutions for keeping out wildlife. We will also discuss how to use succession and companion planting in raised beds to make the most out of the space, and how raised bed planting is different from traditional row gardening. Each attendee will go home with reference materials, including tried-and true layouts and plant combinations!

Seed Starting Workshop

Learn how to start seeds for your garden using two methods: winter sowing and indoor seed starting. Workshop attendees will get to participate in both types of seed starting and bring their newly planted items home. The workshop presentation will also discuss the importance of heirloom and organic seeds, where to source high quality seed, pros and cons of different seed starting materials, timing and methods for starting additional seeds at home, how to care for seedlings , and how to harden off seedlings and transplant them into the garden. This is an excellent workshop for in-home settings! Invite your friends, church or school group, co-workers, etc. for a fun time of learning and doing in a relaxed environment!

Master Your Garden

Whether this is your first year gardening or your current garden just needs an overhaul, this workshop will help you plan an organized, productive, and beautiful space. We will discuss best practices for garden design & care that will help you manage your plants, reduce weeds, prevent disease, and increase yields. This workshop will give you lots of concrete guidance as well as inspiration for creative ideas in the garden. Everyone will leave with seeds that make excellent companion plants in the garden.

Edible Landscaping Workshop

Have your yard and eat it too! This workshop will discuss how to work edibles into your existing landscaping or new landscaping project, with attention to both form and function. We will discuss which edibles work best in the landscape and how to use them in beautiful ways. We will share creative solutions regarding animal pests such as deer and rabbits, which often make growing edibles seem impossible without a fence (not true!). Feel free to come with dimensions and descriptions of where youโ€™d like to add edible landscaping to help you brainstorm or ask questions during the workshop.
